Introduction

Different observational equipment can be borrowed for research. Different types of camera equipment can be borrowed from SOLO or the Servicedesk. Additionally, some labs have observation equipment already installed. This page contains an overview of the different equipment and links to user manuals.

Camera Equipment

The following camera equipment can be borrowed from SOLO

  • Panasonic HC-VX1, 4K camera (Manual)
  • Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH4 (Manual)
    • SOLO built an interface to start the recordings simultaneously with these cameras. This can be useful for observational studies that wish to code behavior from two recordings in ELAN.

The following camera equipment can be borrowed from the Servicedesk

Observation Equipment in the Labs

In some labs, observation equipment is installed to monitor participants during experiments. These tools, such as cameras and microphones, allow researchers to observe behavior, interactions, and responses in a controlled environment without interfering with the natural flow of the study. In many cases, the sessions can also be recorded, enabling researchers to review the footage later for further analysis and documentation. The following pages contain short instructions on how to use them:
